Stratigies

For this drift I used a new walking strategy, which was a algorithmic walk that consisted of turning left left right but only when the timing was right. For my capturing strategies I used the feeling of being dizzy or falling, blurring anyway possible, and using words but making them illegible. I also tried to incorporate bright colors because although bright colors are often found in nature in pictures they always seem to catch the eye and make the picture seem unreal especially when next to dull objects.

Living in a Mac World

this post is just to vent a little on the pressure to have Mac. PC can in fact do all the things Mac can even though Mac led the way when it came to music and video. I know Mac users can't use imovie and such and being fair PC users can't use Windows Movie Maker (also because it isn't compatible with Mac) and even though Quicktime works on both systems I'd like to take the time to say that there are certain features on Quicktime that don't work on PC. such as image sequencing. So although Quicktime may be awesome for Macs it sucks on PC. It feels as though those who have PC are being punished or almost forced to go out and buy Mac because even though PC is just as good Mac it's almost impossible to do the classwork just as well because things aren't fair when required programs don't always work the same

In the eyes of a fish

out of all my videos this is perhaps my favorite simply because I love the shots I used to make it. I used a fisheye camera to take the pictures which causes everything to appear in bubble vision. I also used the long exposure on the camera to get the coolest effect. Click on the picture to see the video

Stay Still! (or not)

This is my first attempt at stills movie, which despite the time consumption, was a lot of fun! It follows an array of photos covering the city, many of the pieces people normally over look. In the middle I stuck a wicked photo of a traffic light that I played around with on a FREEWARE program. It's a pretty cool video I admit but don't be to amazed I've done better. What the hands see

If you've seen the movie Pan's Labyrinth, you would remember the creature that had no eyes in head, but had them in his eyes. Imagine what it would really be like if your eyes were in your hands. While walking around I decided to test this idea (sort of) and tied the camera to my wrist as I ran up and down stairs. The result is a dizzying effect that still appears extremely cool! Dreaming in Walgreens

This video is the one that makes me most feel like I'm in a dream because often in dreams things are blurry and moving and you can hardly get a grip on what's around you. I actually enjoy the disorientating feeling it gives when you watch it. It was also fun to do considering all the weird looks I got spinning around in Walgreens with a camera. whoo hoo! Falling Traffic

Actually I was trying to take a blurry picture of the traffic light when I realized I was recording so I just stared spinning the camera up and down and around. This turned out to be a great tatic for dizzying film, and this rough copy is a little short but I of course had plenty of problems to deal with using Quicktime on PC. This video is one of my favorites because it gives the feeling of plummeting over and over but not going anywhere. Click on the picture to see the video
